The ACCUPRO ACC-BB160500G is a solid carbide boring bar engineered for tight-tolerance internal boring operations on lathes and turning centers. Built from micrograin solid carbide, this bar delivers the rigidity and edge retention needed for precise bore finishing in hardened and abrasive workpiece materials. A titanium nitride (TiN) finish coating reduces friction and extends tool life. With a minimum bore diameter of 0.16 inches and a maximum bore depth of 0.5 inches, it is sized for small-diameter, shallow-reach applications where toolholder rigidity is critical. The right-hand cutting direction suits standard lathe setups with conventional spindle rotation.
This boring bar is suited for short-run and production machining environments where small-bore accuracy is required. It is a practical choice for tool and die shops, precision machine shops, and maintenance machining operations working with ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 3/16-inch shank diameter fits compatible small-bore toolholders, and the 2-inch overall length keeps the tool compact for stable setups in confined boring situations.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety protocols. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before mounting or removing the boring bar. Secure the shank firmly in a compatible toolholder to the full recommended engagement depth to minimize runout and deflection. Inspect the cutting edge for chipping or wear before each use, as carbide tools are brittle and should not be dropped or subjected to impact loading.
