The ACCUPRO ACC-BB050400G is a micrograin solid carbide boring bar designed for precision internal boring operations on CNC and manual lathes. With a minimum bore diameter of 0.05 inches and a maximum bore depth of 0.4 inches, this bar handles tight, shallow bores where standard tooling cannot reach. The 1/8-inch shank diameter and 1.5-inch overall length make it suited for small-bore applications requiring rigid, chatter-resistant tooling. A titanium nitride (TiN) coating improves surface hardness and extends cutting edge life across a range of workpiece materials.
This boring bar is used in precision machining environments including job shops, production facilities, and toolrooms. It is well suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where tight tolerances and fine surface finishes are required. The right-hand cutting direction makes it compatible with standard lathe spindle rotation. Machinists working with small-diameter bores in watch components, medical parts, and instrumentation housings will find the dimensional range practical for those applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fit for tool holders accepting a 1/8-inch shank boring bar in CNC turning centers and manual lathes.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists following shop setup procedures. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing tooling. Ensure the shank is fully seated and properly clamped in the tool holder to the depth recommended by the holder manufacturer to minimize deflection. Verify correct tool height and centerline alignment before taking the first cut.
