The ACCUPRO ACC-BB050300 is a submicron solid carbide boring bar designed for precision internal diameter machining in small-bore applications. It features a 0.05 inch minimum bore diameter and a 0.3 inch maximum bore depth, making it well suited for tight-tolerance work in confined bore geometries. The right-hand cutting direction and bright finish coating support clean, consistent chip evacuation at elevated cutting speeds. With a 0.125 inch shank diameter and a 1.5 inch overall length, this bar fits standard small-shank toolholders used on CNC lathes, Swiss-type machines, and small manual turning centers. Machinists and tool and die makers working in precision shops are the primary users.
This boring bar is intended for small-bore internal turning operations where dimensional accuracy and surface finish are critical. It is appropriate for use in production machining environments, job shops, and precision component manufacturing, particularly when boring holes in hardened or difficult-to-machine materials where submicron carbide grade provides the necessary hardness and wear resistance. Its compact geometry allows access to shallow bores that larger tooling cannot reach.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for small-shank boring bar holders with a 0.125 inch shank diameter bore, as used on CNC turning centers, Swiss-type lathes, and small manual turning machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer's clamping torque and setscrew guidelines. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in an e-stop or locked-out state before changing or adjusting tooling. Verify shank seating depth and runout before taking a first cut. Do not exceed the maximum bore depth rating of 0.3 inch, as overextension increases deflection and risk of tool breakage.
