Built from micrograin solid carbide, this bar delivers the rigidity and edge retention needed for accurate, repeatable bores in small-diameter work. A titanium nitride (TiN) coating reduces friction and extends tool life in production environments. With a 0.05-inch minimum bore diameter and a 1/8-inch shank, this bar is purpose-built for small-bore applications where conventional tooling cannot reach. Overall length is 1.5 inches, keeping the tool compact for close-quarters setups. It is sold individually and is suited for machinists running CNC lathes or manual turning centers.
This boring bar is used in precision machining operations where small internal diameters must be held to tight tolerances. Installation is performed by qualified machinists familiar with lathe tooling setup. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the lathe is powered down before installing or adjusting the boring bar in the toolholder. Confirm the shank is seated and clamped securely to the manufacturer-specified torque using a calibrated torque wrench before engaging the workpiece. Do not exceed the stated maximum bore depth of 0.15 inches, as doing so may cause tool deflection or premature failure.
