The ACCUPRO A-6120221R is a solid carbide micro drill bit designed for precision drilling in tight-tolerance applications. It features a 2.21 mm (0.0870 inch) cutting diameter, a 120-degree standard point angle, and a bright uncoated finish. The spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation during operation. With an overall length of 38 mm and a 3 mm straight-cylindrical shank, this bit fits standard collet chucks and drill chucks sized for miniature tooling. Solid carbide construction provides rigidity and wear resistance, making it suitable for drilling hard materials where high-speed steel tooling would deflect or wear prematurely.
This micro drill bit is built for precision machining environments including CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machines equipped for small-diameter work. It suits applications in electronics manufacturing, medical device fabrication, aerospace component machining, and general precision metalworking. Right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional spindle operation. The miniature series designation indicates suitability for small-bore, fine-detail drilling tasks where dimensional accuracy is critical.
Designed for use in collet chucks, keyless drill chucks, and precision toolholders accepting a 3 mm straight shank, as commonly found on CNC machining centers and precision drill presses configured for miniature tooling.
Installation and use should be performed by machinists or tooling technicians familiar with small-diameter carbide tooling. Carbide is brittle — avoid side-loading, interrupted cuts without appropriate feed reduction, or excessive runout in the toolholder, as any of these conditions can cause tool fracture. Verify spindle runout is within acceptable limits before running small-diameter carbide bits. Always bring the spindle to a full stop before changing or inspecting tooling.
