The ACCUPRO A-6120157R is a solid carbide micro drill bit designed for precision drilling in tight-tolerance applications. Built on a miniature series platform, it features a 1.57 mm cutting diameter (0.0618 inch decimal equivalent), a 120-degree point angle, and a spiral flute geometry that promotes chip evacuation in small-bore operations. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 2.00 mm in diameter, making it compatible with standard collet-style toolholding systems. The bright/uncoated finish preserves the as-ground carbide surface for use in non-ferrous metals, plastics, printed circuit boards, and other materials where coating buildup is undesirable. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals rely on this style of bit where conventional twist drills lack the rigidity and precision required at sub-2 mm diameters.
This micro drill bit is suited for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held precision drilling stations operating at high RPM with controlled feed rates. Typical applications include electronics manufacturing, instrument fabrication, prototype work, and any production environment requiring repeatable small-diameter hole placement. Right-hand cutting direction matches standard spindle rotation on the vast majority of machine tools. The miniature series designation indicates it is purpose-built for diameters where bit deflection and runout control are critical factors in hole quality.
Designed as an OEM-style miniature series micro drill bit for use in any machine tool or precision drilling station equipped with a collet or chuck capable of holding a 2.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation and use of this micro drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with high-speed small-diameter tooling. Ensure the spindle and toolholder are clean and concentric before seating the shank to minimize runout. Power down and de-energize the machine before changing tooling. Avoid side-loading or using the bit as a reamer, as carbide micro drills are brittle and will fracture under lateral stress.
