The ACCUPRO A-6120037R is a wire gauge size 79 micro drill bit ground from solid carbide and intended for precision drilling in tight-tolerance applications. The bit measures 0.0146 inches in diameter with a 25 mm overall length and a 1.60 mm spiral flute. The 120-degree standard point angle provides accurate entry and reduces walking on hard, dense substrates. The straight-cylindrical shank at 1.00 mm diameter seats securely in collet-style chucks standard on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and precision hand tools. Solid carbide construction delivers hardness and wear resistance well beyond high-speed steel, making this bit suitable for ferrous and non-ferrous materials where dimensional accuracy is critical.
This bit fits within the miniature series and is suited for PCB drilling, instrument manufacturing, watchmaking, medical device fabrication, and any application requiring sub-millimeter hole diameters. The bright, uncoated finish keeps tolerances tight and works well in applications where coatings may alter the effective cutting diameter at this micro scale. Right-hand spiral flute geometry provides efficient chip evacuation in short, controlled drilling cycles typical of CNC micro-machining environments. The regular spiral type supports consistent feed rates at the low chip loads required for wire-gauge work.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and precision rotary tools equipped with collet-style toolholders accepting a 1.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for miniature drilling operations in PCB, instrumentation, and precision manufacturing environments.
Secure the shank fully in a collet or precision chuck before operation; micro drill bits are susceptible to runout damage if not properly seated. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing tooling. Feed rates and spindle speeds should be set per the material being drilled, as solid carbide bits at this diameter are brittle and will fracture under excessive side load or feed pressure. Coolant-through is not supported on this bit; use a compatible cutting fluid applied externally if the workpiece material requires lubrication.
