The ACCUPRO 95172665 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding machining environments. With a 1/2 inch cutting diameter and four flutes in a variable helix, variable index configuration, this tool reduces harmonic vibration and chatter during cuts. The AlCrTiN coating provides elevated heat resistance and surface hardness, making it well suited for dry cutting and high-speed applications in ferrous and hard materials. The micrograin carbide substrate delivers edge toughness and wear resistance across extended tool life. This end mill is a right-hand cut, right-hand flute, centercutting tool installed by machinists and CNC operators in production and job shop settings.
This end mill is suited for vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills running ferrous alloys, stainless steels, and hardened materials where heat buildup and chatter are primary concerns. The short length configuration with a 5/8 inch length of cut and 3 inch overall length provides rigidity for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling at moderate depths. The straight cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance fits standard ER and side-lock toolholders. It is a single-end tool and is not regrindable without affecting the variable helix geometry.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill compatible with standard 1/2 inch collet, ER, and side-lock toolholders used in CNC and manual milling machines.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC tooling technician. Secure the shank fully into the toolholder to the recommended gauge depth and torque the retention mechanism per toolholder manufacturer specifications before spindle operation. Verify runout with a dial indicator before production cutting, as the rated TIR maximum is 0.0005 inches. Do not exceed the rated cutting diameter or depth of cut parameters established in the machining program for this tool geometry.
