The ACCUPRO 95171873 is a solid carbide roughing and finishing end mill designed for high-material-removal-rate milling operations across a wide range of metalworking applications. Built with a 1/2 inch cutting diameter and 3 flutes, this tool combines a chipbreaker geometry with a 37-degree helix angle to improve chip evacuation and reduce cutting forces during aggressive roughing passes. The ZrN (zirconium nitride) coating increases surface hardness and heat resistance, extending tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Micrograin carbide construction delivers edge sharpness and wear resistance suited to production environments.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual mills for roughing and semi-finishing operations on steel, aluminum, stainless, and similar workpiece materials. The square end profile produces sharp 90-degree shoulders and flat floor cuts. With a 1-1/4 inch length of cut and 6 inch overall length, this tool accommodates extended-reach setups where standard-length end mills cannot access deep pockets or tall workpieces. The single-end, straight shank design fits standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and hydraulic chucks with a 1/2 inch bore. It is suited for job shops, tool rooms, and production floor applications requiring consistent performance on repeated cuts.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for standard 1/2 inch straight-shank end mill holders, ER collet chucks, and hydraulic tool holders used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting a 1/2 inch shank diameter.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully and evenly into the tool holder before tightening to the holder manufacturer's specified torque range. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation and before beginning a cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tooling.
