The ACCUPRO 95170942 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 3/8-inch cutting diameter, a 1/2-inch length of cut, and a 4-inch overall length with an extended reach of 2.375 inches. The ZrN (zirconium nitride) coating improves surface hardness and reduces friction at the cutting edge. With three flutes and a 37-degree right-hand spiral helix, this tool delivers efficient chip evacuation and smooth finishes. It is centercutting-capable, meaning it can plunge directly into a workpiece. The corner radius measures 0.015 inches, reducing stress concentrations at the bottom of the cut and extending tool life in high-cycle applications.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills used in tool-and-die, aerospace component, and precision parts manufacturing. The extended reach and stub-length flute configuration make it appropriate for reaching into pockets or cavities where standard-length tools cannot access. The 3/8-inch shank is compatible with standard ER collet chucks and end mill holders. The micrograin carbide substrate provides the rigidity and edge retention needed for finishing passes in hardened or abrasive materials.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard addition for CNC machining centers and manual mills using 3/8-inch ER collet chucks or end mill holders with right-hand cutting tool setups.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Seat the shank to the full recommended depth in the collet or holder and torque the retention nut to the tool holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before initiating the first cut, particularly given the reduced neck diameter on this extended-reach configuration.
