The ACCUPRO 95168848 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 5/16 inch (0.3125 inch) mill diameter with a 0.0200 inch corner radius, producing a controlled edge break that reduces stress concentration in milled pockets and contours. The 4-flute, single-end configuration with a right-hand spiral and variable helix provides efficient chip evacuation and improved surface finish. The AlTiN coating adds heat and wear resistance, making this tool well-suited for dry or near-dry cutting of hardened steels, stainless, and high-temperature alloys. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this tool in CNC machining centers.
This end mill is sized for stub-length applications where rigidity is critical and deflection must be minimized. The 7/16 inch length of cut (0.4375 inch) and 2 inch overall length make it appropriate for shallow-to-moderate depth slot milling, profiling, and contouring operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry, expanding its utility in multi-operation setups without a pre-drilled lead hole. It is commonly used in job shops, aerospace component machining, and mold and die work where tight tolerances and repeatable edge geometry are required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-specification solid carbide corner radius end mill for use in standard CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 5/16 inch shank diameter collet or end mill holder.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following safe tooling change procedures. Power down and lock out the spindle before seating or removing the end mill from the collet or holder. Verify collet bore and holder bore are clean and free of chips before torquing to the holder specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator after installation — excessive runout accelerates edge wear and degrades surface finish on close-tolerance cuts.
