The ACCUPRO 95168817 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and hardened materials. It features a 5/8-inch cutting diameter with a 0.0300-inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the tool-workpiece interface and extends tool life in demanding cuts. The cutter runs 5 flutes in a right-hand spiral configuration with a 45-degree helix angle, delivering smooth chip evacuation and improved surface finish. An AlTiN coating provides high-temperature oxidation resistance, making this end mill well-suited for dry or near-dry cutting conditions. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals specify this geometry for finishing and semi-finishing passes where edge integrity is critical.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills where stub-length tooling is preferred for rigidity. The 3/4-inch length of cut (LOC) and 3-inch overall length (OAL) make it appropriate for shallow-to-moderate depth milling in steel, stainless steel, and high-temp alloys where AlTiN performance is best utilized. The 5/8-inch shank diameter matches standard ER and end mill holders common in production shop environments. It is a single-end, centercutting tool, allowing plunge entry as well as conventional peripheral and slot milling.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for standard 5/8-inch shank corner radius end mills in ER32, ER40, and comparable end mill holder systems used in CNC machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety protocols. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the holder to the recommended gauge-line depth and torque the collet nut to the holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cut, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear on carbide tooling.
