The ACCUPRO 95168787 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding machining environments. With a 1/2 inch diameter, 5/8 inch length of cut, and 5 flutes arranged in a variable helix configuration, this tool delivers improved chip evacuation and reduced chatter compared to fixed-helix designs. The nACRo coating provides enhanced hardness and heat resistance, making it well-suited for cutting hardened steels, stainless alloys, and other difficult-to-machine materials. This is a single-end, center-cutting tool with right-hand cutting and flute direction, and it is manufactured from micrograin solid carbide for consistent edge integrity under high cutting loads.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines where precision profiling, slotting, and side milling are required. The 1/2 inch shank diameter fits standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and hydraulic toolholders. The 2-1/2 inch overall length keeps overhang manageable for rigidity-sensitive operations. Machinists working in job shops, production environments, and tool rooms will find this tool appropriate for general-purpose and high-speed milling applications across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or upgrade for 1/2 inch shank square end mills used in standard ER, Weldon, and shrink-fit toolholding systems on CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank to the recommended engagement depth in the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the collet or holder for wear or runout before use, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear and reduce tool life.
