The ACCUPRO 95168707 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding shop environments. It features a 5/8 inch cutting diameter, a 2-1/2 inch length of cut, and a 0.0600 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life on hardened and abrasive materials. The 5-flute, right-hand spiral geometry with a 45-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. An AlTiN coating adds thermal resistance and hardness at the cutting edge, making this tool well-suited for high-speed dry or near-dry machining applications. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops, tool-and-die, and production environments install and operate this tool.
This end mill is built for profiling, slotting, and finishing passes in ferrous metals, tool steels, stainless steels, and similarly hard materials where heat generation is a concern. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, adding flexibility for pocket milling operations. The long-length classification with a 2-1/2 inch LOC and 5 inch overall length suits applications requiring extended reach into deep pockets or stepped features. The micrograin carbide substrate supports tight tolerances and consistent edge retention across production runs.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills with standard 5/8 inch tool holders, collet chucks, or hydraulic/shrink-fit holders accepting a 5/8 inch shank diameter. Suitable for ferrous metals, hardened steels, and abrasive alloys where AlTiN coating performance is appropriate.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before loading or unloading the tool. Seat the shank fully in the holder and torque retention screws or collet nuts to the tool holder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout at the cutting diameter before beginning production cuts, as excessive runout accelerates wear on corner radius end mills.
