The ACCUPRO 95168478 is a solid carbide corner chamfer end mill designed for precision chamfering and edge-breaking operations on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 1/4 inch cutting diameter, a 45-degree chamfer angle, and a 0.0100 inch chamfer width, delivering consistent edge geometry on hardened and difficult-to-machine workpieces. The AlTiN coating provides elevated heat resistance and extended tool life in high-speed dry or semi-dry cutting conditions. With a 4-flute, variable helix design and right-hand cutting direction, this end mill reduces chatter and improves surface finish. It is single-end with centercutting capability, allowing plunge entry where required. Typically installed by CNC machinists and tool-and-die professionals in production and job-shop environments.
This end mill is suited for chamfering, edge prep, and countersinking operations on machining centers and CNC mills. The extended reach configuration, with a 2-1/8 inch reach length and 4 inch overall length, makes it effective for accessing recessed features or working around fixturing. The 3/8 inch length of cut handles standard chamfer depths in steel, stainless, cast iron, and high-temp alloys. The micrograin carbide substrate supports tight tolerances and resists edge wear in high-production runs. Shops running high-speed machining strategies benefit from the variable helix geometry, which dampens harmonics at elevated RPM.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard production end mill compatible with CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 1/4 inch straight shank.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom personnel. Secure the shank in a collet or end mill holder to the full depth of engagement and verify runout before beginning a cut. Confirm spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and coating type before engaging the cut. Never exceed the rated length of cut depth in a single pass without verifying rigidity and chip evacuation.
