The ACCUPRO 95168438 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for high-material-removal-rate milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride), this tool handles elevated cutting temperatures and abrasive workpiece materials. The chipbreaker geometry along the 4 right-hand flutes breaks chips into shorter segments, reducing recutting and heat buildup during aggressive roughing passes. The 3/8-inch diameter with a 1-inch length of cut and 2-1/2-inch overall length makes it well-suited to shallow-to-moderate depth roughing in confined or standard-clearance setups.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual mills for roughing operations on steel, stainless, cast iron, titanium, and similar materials. The AlTiN coating extends tool life at higher surface footage where uncoated carbide would degrade rapidly. A 30-degree maximum helix angle balances cutting efficiency with chip evacuation. The right-hand cutting direction and non-center-cutting design mean it is intended for peripheral and side milling, not plunge cutting. Machinists and toolroom professionals running production or job-shop roughing programs will find this a direct-use replacement in standard 3/8-inch collet or end mill holders.
Designed as an OEM-style roughing end mill for use in standard 3/8-inch end mill holders, collet chucks, and shrink-fit toolholding systems on CNC and manual milling machines.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the 3/8-inch shank fully into the holder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Because this is a non-center-cutting end mill, do not use it for direct plunge cuts into solid material.
