The ACCUPRO 95168348 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with AlTiN (Aluminum Titanium Nitride), it delivers heat resistance and edge retention in hard and abrasive workpiece materials. The chipbreaker geometry along the flutes breaks chips into manageable segments, reducing heat buildup and cutting forces during heavy roughing passes. At 0.25 inches in diameter with a 0.75 inches length of cut and a 2.5 inches overall length, this tool fits compact toolholders used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines alike. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals rely on this geometry for high-material-removal-rate operations.
This end mill is suited for roughing operations in ferrous and high-temperature alloy materials where chip control and tool life are priorities. The 4-flute, right-hand cutting and right-hand flute configuration makes it appropriate for conventional CNC vertical and horizontal milling setups. The regular length profile and 1/4 inch shank diameter allow direct installation into standard collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders common in production and job-shop environments. It is not center-cutting, so plunge entry is not recommended without a pre-drilled pilot hole or ramping entry strategy.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct procurement option for 1/4 inch single-end roughing end mill applications in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines using standard 1/4 inch collet or end mill holder systems.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and at rest before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder to the minimum insertion depth recommended by the holder manufacturer before torquing the retention mechanism. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear on a solid carbide tool.
