The ACCUPRO 95168291 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. It features a 1/4 inch diameter, a 3/8 inch length of cut, and a 5-flute configuration with a 45-degree right-hand spiral helix. The AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance for high-speed and dry cutting applications. Micrograin carbide substrate supports edge retention in demanding cut conditions. The stub length overall length of 2 inches keeps the tool rigid, reducing deflection during slotting, profiling, and finishing passes. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this tool in vertical machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill suits production and job-shop environments where tight tolerances and surface finish matter. The centercutting design allows plunge entry as well as conventional peripheral milling. The stub length format is well-suited to shallow-cavity work where minimal overhang is critical. Typical applications include profiling tool steel, stainless steel, hardened materials, and aluminum alloys where AlTiN coating provides a performance advantage over uncoated or TiN alternatives. The right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional and climb milling on CNC and manual equipment.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling selection for 1/4 inch collet or end mill holder setups on CNC machining centers and manual vertical mills requiring a 1/4 inch shank square end mill.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down or in an e-stop state before changing tooling. Seat the 1/4 inch shank fully into the collet or end mill holder and tighten to the tool holder manufacturer torque specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production run to confirm seating and minimize premature edge wear.
