The ACCUPRO 95168285 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal and alloy workpieces. Built from micrograin carbide and coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride), this tool handles demanding cuts in hardened steels, stainless, and heat-resistant alloys. It features a 0.125-inch cutting diameter, a 0.25-inch length of cut, and four spiral flutes with a variable helix geometry that reduces chatter and improves chip evacuation. The stub-length configuration adds rigidity, making it well-suited for shallow-pocket and slotting work where tool deflection is a concern. Center-cutting capability allows plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills across job shops, production facilities, and toolrooms. Typical applications include slot milling, profiling, and pocket roughing in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The right-hand cut, right-hand spiral flute configuration is standard for conventional and climb milling on vertical and horizontal spindle setups. The stub length and 0.125-inch shank diameter are common in high-speed small-part machining where minimal overhang is required.
Designed as a general-purpose square end mill for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills with standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, or shrink-fit tooling that accept a 0.125-inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Confirm runout with a dial indicator after seating the shank to the specified depth in the holder - excessive runout will accelerate wear and degrade surface finish. Follow the tool manufacturer and machine builder guidelines for feed rates and speeds appropriate to the workpiece material and coating type.
