The ACCUPRO 800-MG is a single point tool bit designed for offset threading and V-grooving-to-shoulder operations on manual and CNC lathes. Built with a micrograin solid carbide tip, it delivers consistent edge integrity under the high contact pressures that threading cuts generate. The shank measures 5/16 inches wide by 5/16 inches tall, and the overall length is 2.25 inches. The left-hand cutting direction makes it the correct choice for right-to-left feed applications where a standard right-hand tool would pull away from the shoulder. Machinists and toolroom technicians installing this bit will find it suited to precision threading passes where finish and thread form accuracy matter.
The 800-MG is used in threading and V-grooving applications on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces where the tool must cut to a shoulder without interference. The offset geometry provides clearance that a straight tool bit cannot. It is most common in production and job-shop turning environments on lathes with a tool post or quick-change tooling system accepting 5/16-inch shank tooling. The EL-5 industry standard designation and EL style classification confirm its fit within standard insert and bit holder configurations that call out that geometry.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use single point tool bit for lathes and turning centers accepting 5/16-inch shank tooling with EL-style geometry, per industry standard EL-5 classification.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. The tool post or quick-change holder must be locked down securely before taking any threading pass. Power down the lathe and confirm zero spindle rotation before seating or removing any tool bit. Do not use this bit for interrupted cuts or applications outside its rated threading and V-grooving classification, as misapplication can cause carbide fracture.
