The ACCUPRO 785055 is an ER40 series collet designed for use in CNC machining centers, milling machines, and other spindle-driven equipment that accepts ER40 toolholding systems. This collet has a decimal inch size of 0.656 inches and a minimum collet capacity of 0.625 inches, providing a defined clamping range suitable for securing cutting tools, drills, and end mills of corresponding shank diameters. Manufactured to ER40 dimensional standards, it delivers consistent tool runout performance required in precision metalworking and fabrication environments. Machinists and CNC operators install and service these collets as part of routine tooling changeovers.
This collet is suited for production and job-shop environments running ER40-compatible toolholders on vertical machining centers, horizontal mills, and collet chuck setups. It is commonly used when holding tools with shank sizes in the 0.625 to 0.656 inch range. The ER40 series is a widely adopted standard in both manual and CNC spindle applications across light and heavy metalworking operations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement collet for ER40-standard toolholders used in CNC milling, machining centers, and collet chuck spindle assemblies.
ER40 collets are installed and removed by machinists or CNC operators using the appropriate ER40 collet nut and spanner wrench. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing collets. Inspect the collet bore and toolholder taper for chips or wear before seating the collet. Do not exceed the stated clamping range, as oversizing tool shanks relative to the collet capacity can damage the collet and reduce clamping force.
