It accepts tooling with a decimal inch size of 0.094 inches and a minimum collet capacity of 0.078 inches, making it suited for small-diameter end mills, drills, and similar cutting tools. Machinists and tooling technicians install this collet into a compatible ER16 collet chuck to secure and accurately drive cutting tools during precision machining operations. Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC operator. Before changing collets, power down the spindle and confirm the machine is in a safe, locked-out state per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Insert the collet into a compatible ER16 collet chuck nut before threading onto the chuck body, and tighten to the chuck manufacturer's specified torque using an appropriate collet wrench. Do not run the spindle without confirming the collet and tooling are fully seated and secured.
