The ACCUPRO 778872 is a CAT to Jacobs Taper adapter designed for use in CNC machining centers and milling machines equipped with CAT50 spindles. It accepts a CAT50 outside taper connection and converts to a JT4 (Jacobs Taper 4) inside taper, allowing technicians to mount Jacobs-style drill chucks directly to a CAT50 tool holder interface. The adapter provides a 1.49-inch projection and features a 1.1-inch and 1.124-inch hole diameter. Coolant-through capability is not supported. Weighing 1 pound, this solid adapter is built for reliable chuck mounting in production or maintenance machining environments.
This adapter is suited for machine shops, maintenance facilities, and toolroom applications where a CAT50 spindle machine requires a Jacobs Taper 4 chuck mount. Typical use cases include drilling operations on vertical machining centers or knee mills with CAT50 tooling systems. It installs without modification and is appropriate for both production and general-purpose drilling setups where a direct chuck-to-spindle connection is needed.
Designed as an OEM-style adapter for CAT50 spindle machines requiring a JT4 Jacobs Taper chuck mount. Compatible with any standard CAT50 tooling interface and Jacobs Taper 4 drill chucks meeting standard JT4 arbor geometry.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing any tool holder. Ensure the CAT50 taper and spindle bore are clean and free of chips or debris before installing the adapter. Torque the drawbar to the machine manufacturer specifications found in the machine service documentation.
