The ACCUPRO 77713014 is a screw machine length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding metal-cutting applications. Built from solid submicron carbide and coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) for heat and wear resistance, this bit handles alloy steel, cast iron, and stainless steel without sacrificing tool life. The 140-degree split point reduces walking and lowers thrust force on entry. At 0.2362 inches (6.00 mm) in diameter with a maximum drilling depth of 0.709 inches, it is sized for precise, repeatable holes in production and job-shop environments. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and CNC operators are the primary users.
This drill bit is suited for screw machine work, CNC machining centers, and drill press operations where short, stiff tooling is required to maintain dimensional accuracy. The screw machine length body reduces overhang and vibration compared to jobber-length bits, making it a practical choice for tight-tolerance bore work in alloy steel, cast iron, and stainless steel workpieces. Coolant-through capability supports high-speed cycles in automated setups where chip evacuation and heat management are critical to maintaining tolerance and surface finish.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers, screw machines, and drill presses with standard straight-shank toolholding. Primary workpiece materials are alloy steel, cast iron, and stainless steel.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators familiar with carbide tooling requirements. Ensure the shank is fully seated and clamped in the toolholder before spindle engagement. Carbide tooling is brittle — avoid lateral loading, interrupted cuts without appropriate feed adjustments, or drop impacts that can chip the cutting edge. Verify coolant flow through the spindle before running a coolant-through cycle.
