The ACCUPRO 77711968 is a jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding shop and field applications. Manufactured from solid carbide and finished with an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating, it delivers extended tool life and heat resistance in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The bit is sized at Letter E, equivalent to 0.2500 inches, with a 140-degree split-point angle for accurate self-centering entry and reduced thrust. A web-thinned, tapered web configuration supports clean chip evacuation and reduces cutting force at the tip. This bit is suited for machinists, tool-and-die workers, and industrial maintenance technicians working on CNC or manual drilling equipment.
This drill bit is built for production and precision drilling environments where standard high-speed steel tooling falls short. The AlTiN coating allows the bit to run at elevated speeds and temperatures, making it well-suited for hardened steels, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar materials. With a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio, the 77711968 supports drilling depths up to 1.25 inches in a single pass without pausing for chip clearance. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks and collet-style tool holders.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or upgrade for Letter E (0.2500 inch) jobber-length drill bits in standard 3-jaw drill chucks and collet tool holders accepting an 8 mm straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or maintenance technician following the machine tool manufacturer's setup procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and locked out before inserting or removing the bit from the chuck or collet. Verify chuck runout and shank seating before initiating a cut, as excessive runout will accelerate wear on a carbide tool. Follow the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the specific workpiece material.
