The ACCUPRO 75554659 is a square carbide turning insert in the SCMT style, designed for use in CNC and manual lathe turning operations. It carries the ANSI insert code SCMT433 and ISO insert code SCMT120412, making cross-referencing to toolholders and tool catalogs straightforward. The insert features a PVD coating under the ACM25P manufacturer grade, a neutral hand orientation, and a positive side clearance geometry. With four usable cutting edges and a 7-degree relief angle, it delivers consistent performance across a range of turning applications. Machinists and CNC programmers specify this insert for work on steel, stainless steel, and special or super alloys.
This insert is suited for turning operations in manufacturing environments where multiple workpiece material families are encountered. The WM+ chip breaker geometry supports applications ranging from high wear-resistance cutting of steel to moderate wear-resistance and toughness requirements on stainless steel and super alloys. It is a neutral-hand insert, so it seats in both right-hand and left-hand SCMT-style toolholders. Screw-clamping is the designated holding method, consistent with standard SCMT-style insert pockets. The insert is sold individually but carries a minimum order quantity of 10 pieces.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for SCMT433 and SCMT120412 style insert pockets using screw-clamp holding in compatible SCMT-style turning toolholders.
Installation is performed by the machine operator or toolroom technician with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out. Seat the insert fully into the pocket and tighten the clamping screw to manufacturer torque specifications for the toolholder being used. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating a new insert. Do not exceed the maximum depth of cut of 0.1181 inches (3.00 mm) specified for this insert geometry.
