The ACCUPRO 75554311 is a WNMG-style carbide turning insert designed for external and internal turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the ANSI code WNMG432 and ISO code WNMG080402, placing it in the W-shape trigon 80-degree geometry class. The insert is manufactured from carbide with a CVD coating under grade ACK20P, targeting high wear-resistance on steel (P) and cast iron (K) workpiece materials. A 0.80 mm (0.0315 inch) corner radius and negative side clearance make it well suited for moderate to heavy finishing and semi-finishing passes. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert into compatible toolholders on production turning equipment.
This insert is intended for machining steel and cast iron workpieces where high wear-resistance is the primary requirement, with secondary emphasis on toughness in cast iron applications. The neutral hand orientation allows use in both left- and right-hand toolholder configurations. Typical applications include shaft turning, facing, and profiling on horizontal and vertical turning centers in job shop and production environments. The 909+ chip breaker geometry assists with chip control during continuous cuts. Each package contains one insert; the minimum order quantity is 10 pieces.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for WNMG432 and WNMG080402 style toolholders accepting W-shape inserts with a negative clearance angle, 12.70 mm inscribed circle, and clamp, lever lock, pin, or screw holding methods.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the turret is in a safe index position before seating or removing inserts. Inspect the toolholder pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before installing the new insert. Torque the clamping screw or lever to the toolholder manufacturer specifications using the correct torx or hex key — do not over-tighten, as this can fracture the carbide substrate.
