The ACCUPRO 75548370 is a CNMG-style indexable turning insert designed for general and heavy-duty lathe operations on steel, stainless steel, and special or super alloys. It is manufactured from carbide substrate with a CVD coating in the ACP35M grade, which provides a balance of wear resistance and toughness suited to interrupted and continuous cuts. The insert features an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape, a neutral hand orientation, and four usable cutting edges per insert. A 1.20 mm corner radius delivers a smooth surface finish while maintaining edge strength. Machinists and CNC lathe operators working in job shop and production environments install this class of insert.
This insert is applicable to external and internal turning operations in residential and industrial machine shops, production facilities, and toolroom environments. It is rated for three primary workpiece material categories: steel (P) with high wear resistance to high toughness performance, stainless steel (M) with moderate wear resistance and toughness, and special and super alloys (S) with moderate wear resistance and toughness. The 909+ chip breaker geometry supports chip control across a range of feed rates and depths of cut up to 8.00 mm. Compatible toolholders use clamp, lever lock, pin, or screw holding methods with a negative side clearance and CNMG-style pockets.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for CNMG-style turning toolholders accepting negative-rake, clamp, lever lock, pin, or screw holding methods. ANSI size code 543, ISO size code 160612.
Indexable turning inserts are installed and replaced by machinists and CNC lathe operators. Before changing an insert, shut down spindle rotation and allow all moving parts to come to a complete stop. Use the appropriate torque wrench and insert key for the toolholder clamping system to seat the insert securely without cracking the carbide. Verify that the seating pocket is clean and free of chips or debris before indexing to a fresh cutting edge.
