Product Description

The ACCUPRO 75542621 is a carbide turning insert designed for precision single-point turning operations on CNC and manual lathes. Manufactured to the DCMT21.51 ANSI standard and DCMT070204 ISO standard, this insert features a 55-degree diamond (rhombic) shape with a positive side clearance geometry. The ACM25P grade with PVD coating provides a balance of wear resistance and toughness suited to steel, stainless steel, and special or super alloys. The WSF+ chip breaker promotes controlled chip formation during finish and semi-finish turning passes. With a 0.40 mm (0.0157 inch) corner radius and a maximum depth of cut of 1.80 mm (0.0709 inch), the insert is optimized for light to moderate material removal with tight tolerances.

This insert is used in external and internal turning applications across general machining, aerospace component work, and precision part production. It is a neutral-hand insert compatible with standard DCMT-style toolholders using screw-clamping retention. Typical users include CNC machinists, toolroom operators, and production turning specialists working on steel alloys, austenitic stainless steels, and high-temperature super alloys where consistent surface finish and tool life predictability are required.

Key Features

  • ACM25P carbide grade with PVD coating for high wear resistance across steel and stainless steel applications
  • DCMT diamond 55-degree insert shape provides strong cutting edge with clearance for shoulder and contour turning
  • WSF+ chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip evacuation during finish turning
  • Positive side clearance reduces cutting forces and heat generation at the workpiece
  • Two cutting edges per insert for extended tool economy
  • Screw-clamping holding method ensures secure, repeatable insert seating in compatible toolholders

Compatibility

Designed for use in standard DCMT-style screw-clamp toolholders accepting inserts to the ANSI DCMT21.51 and ISO DCMT070204 specifications. Suitable for primary workpiece materials coded P (steel), M (stainless steel), and S (special and super alloys).

Installation Notes

Insert replacement and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered off and the spindle fully stopped. Use the correct torx or hex key driver specified by the toolholder manufacturer to seat the clamping screw to the recommended torque for the holder size. Inspect the toolholder pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before installing a new insert. Never run the insert beyond its usable cutting edges, as a worn edge increases cutting forces and can damage the workpiece or toolholder.
