The ACCUPRO 75515528 is a square SCMT-style carbide turning insert designed for general and finish turning on CNC and manual lathes. Carrying the ISO designation SCMT09T304, this insert features a 90-degree included angle, a 7-degree relief angle, and a 0.40 mm (0.0157 inch) corner radius that balances surface finish quality with edge strength. The substrate is CVD-coated carbide, grade ACM20P, engineered for high wear-resistance to moderate wear-resistance and toughness across steel and stainless steel workpiece materials. Machinists and toolroom operators install it using a screw-clamp holding method. With four cutting edges per insert and a positive side clearance geometry, it delivers consistent, repeatable performance per edge.
This insert is suited for turning steel and stainless steel components in production and jobshop environments. The SCMT style and positive side clearance geometry make it appropriate for moderate to light cutting depths, with a maximum depth of cut of 3.00 mm (0.1181 inch). The WM+ chip breaker geometry promotes reliable chip control during continuous and interrupted finish turning passes. Designed as a direct-fit replacement for SCMT09T304-style insert seats; compatible with any ANSI SCMT32.51 screw-clamp toolholder accepting a square insert with a 0.1772-inch hole diameter and 0.1563-inch insert thickness.
Installation is performed by machinists and toolroom technicians following standard CNC or manual lathe lockout and energy-isolation procedures before any insert change. Seat the insert firmly against the toolholder pocket walls before tightening the clamp screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris that could rock the insert and cause premature edge failure. Dispose of worn carbide inserts according to applicable local regulations for metal cutting waste.
