The ACCUPRO 75507509 is a CCGT-style carbide turning insert designed for precision metal removal on stainless steel and super alloy workpieces. It features an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) insert shape, a PVD coating under the ACM15S manufacturer grade, and a neutral hand orientation. The LMF+ chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip evacuation during light-to-moderate finishing cuts. With a corner radius of 0.40 mm (0.0157 inches) and a maximum depth of cut of 1.35 mm (0.0531 inches), this insert is suited for fine finishing passes where tight tolerances and surface finish quality are critical. It is held in place via screw-type clamping and carries a positive side clearance with a 7-degree relief angle.
This insert is intended for CNC turning centers and manual lathes performing finishing operations on stainless steel (ISO material group M) and special or super alloys (ISO material group S). The ACM15S grade offers high wear resistance with moderate toughness, making it appropriate for interrupted cuts and harder-to-machine alloys common in aerospace, medical, and chemical processing applications. Machinists and CNC operators working with challenging materials will find this insert well-suited for low-feed, close-tolerance turning work.
Designed for use in CCGT-compatible screw-on turning toolholders. ANSI insert code CCGT32.51 and ISO insert code CCGT09T304 should be used to confirm toolholder compatibility. Primary workpiece material codes are M (stainless steel) and S (special and super alloys).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC technician with the machine powered down and the spindle locked before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torque screwdriver or hex key specified by the toolholder manufacturer to seat the clamping screw — do not overtighten, as carbide inserts are brittle and can crack under excessive clamp force. Verify insert seating and shim condition before resuming cuts. Follow the toolholder manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when handling carbide inserts, as edges are extremely sharp.
