The ACCUPRO 75366435 is a square carbide turning insert conforming to ANSI code SCMT432 and ISO code SCMT120408. Manufactured in the ACM25P grade with a PVD coating, this insert is engineered for steel, stainless steel, and special or super alloy machining applications. It features a positive side clearance geometry and a WM+ chip breaker for effective chip control across a range of cutting conditions. The insert measures 0.5000 inches inscribed circle diameter and carries a 0.80 mm (0.0315 inches) corner radius, making it well-suited for finishing and semi-finishing turning operations. CNC machinists and toolroom operators use these inserts in screw-held toolholders on CNC lathes and turning centers.
This insert is appropriate for use in both production turning and job-shop environments. The SCMT style with positive clearance geometry reduces cutting forces and heat generation, which is especially beneficial when machining stainless steel and nickel-based super alloys. The ACM25P grade with PVD coating provides high wear resistance on steel workpieces and moderate wear resistance with increased toughness on stainless steel and special alloy materials. Maximum depth of cut is 3.00 mm (0.1181 inches). With four available cutting edges per insert, tooling cost per edge is kept low in high-volume turning operations.
Designed for use in SCMT-style screw-held turning toolholders accepting a 0.5000-inch inscribed circle square insert with a 0.2205-inch hole diameter, conforming to ANSI SCMT432 and ISO SCMT120408 standards.
Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or indexing inserts. Use the manufacturer-specified torque wrench and clamping screw for the toolholder to seat the insert correctly — do not overtighten by hand. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating a new edge.
