The ACCUPRO 75332155 is a carbide turning insert designed for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. It follows the VCGT331 ANSI insert code and the VCGT160404 ISO insert code, placing it in the V-shape diamond (rhombic) 35-degree geometry family. The insert carries a polished ACN15K grade coating and a positive side clearance with a 7-degree relief angle. With a corner radius of 0.0157 inches (0.40 mm) and a maximum depth of cut of 0.0531 inches (1.35 mm), it is suited for light to moderate finishing passes where dimensional accuracy and surface finish are the priority. The LMF+ chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip evacuation during those cuts.
This insert is applied in turning operations on cast iron and non-ferrous materials such as aluminum, brass, and other soft metals. The ACN15K grade is rated for high to moderate wear resistance with corresponding toughness in K-class (cast iron) and N-class (aluminum and non-ferrous) workpiece materials. It is a neutral-hand insert, making it suitable for both right-hand and left-hand tool holders that accept the VCGT geometry. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, production turning cells, and maintenance machining environments are the primary users.
Designed for use in screw-clamp tool holders accepting the VCGT geometry with a ANSI size code of 331 and ISO size code of 160404. Compatible workpiece material classes are K (cast iron) and N (aluminum and non-ferrous metals) per ISO material group designations.
Insert indexing and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine in a full stop and locked-out condition before handling the cutting insert. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key specified by the tool holder manufacturer to seat the screw-clamp; do not overtighten, as carbide inserts are brittle and can crack under excessive clamping force. Verify insert seating and pocket cleanliness before resuming cutting operations. Always wear cut-resistant gloves when handling indexable carbide inserts.
