The ACCUPRO 75331868 is a CCMT-style carbide turning insert designed for precision external turning operations on CNC and manual lathes. Carrying ANSI code CCMT431 and ISO code CCMT120404, this neutral-hand insert features an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape, a 7-degree relief angle, and a 0.40 mm (0.0157 inch) corner radius. The CVD coating and ACP25M grade designation provide high wear resistance across steel, stainless steel, and cast iron workpiece materials. It is held in the toolholder by screw clamping and delivers a positive side clearance geometry for clean, consistent chip evacuation on medium to finish turning passes.
This insert is suited for general-purpose turning in job shop, production machining, and maintenance repair environments. The WM+ chip breaker geometry is designed to handle a range of depths of cut up to 3.00 mm (0.1181 inches), making it practical for both roughing-to-finish and finishing passes on steel and stainless steel components. Cast iron turning applications also fall within the rated primary workpiece material codes (P, M, K). Machinists and CNC operators working with mid-range surface speeds and moderate feed rates will find this insert fits standard CCMT431-compatible toolholders without modification.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for CCMT431 (ISO CCMT120404) toolholders accepting a 0.5000-inch inscribed circle carbide insert with screw clamping. Primary workpiece material codes P, M, and K cover carbon steel, stainless steel, and cast iron applications respectively.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC operator with the machine powered off and the spindle locked before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque range — do not overtighten, as this can fracture the carbide. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating the new insert. Verify tool offset compensation after indexing to a fresh cutting edge.
