The ACCUPRO 75289579 is a TCMT-style triangular carbide turning insert designed for precision external and internal turning operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Built to ANSI code TCMT1.81.51 and ISO code TCMT090204, this insert carries a PVD coating and manufacturer grade ACM25P, providing a balance of wear resistance and toughness across a range of workpiece materials. The positive side clearance geometry and 7-degree relief angle promote clean cutting action and reduce cutting forces. Machinists and CNC operators working in production or job-shop environments install these inserts as direct toolholder replacements during routine edge indexing.
This insert is suited for turning steel, stainless steel, and special or super alloys. The ACM25P grade and WM+ chip breaker geometry support high wear resistance in steel applications, moderate wear resistance and toughness in stainless steel, and moderate wear resistance with toughness in super alloy machining. With a maximum depth of cut of 3.00 mm and a 0.40 mm corner radius, it is well matched to finishing and light semi-finishing passes where dimensional accuracy and surface finish are priorities.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for TCMT-style toolholders accepting the TCMT090204 ISO size and TCMT1.81.51 ANSI size designation.
Insert indexing and replacement should be performed with the machine in a full stop condition and all spindle motion confirmed stopped before handling. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to release the clamping screw, seat the new cutting edge, and torque the screw per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the toolholder pocket for chips or debris before seating the insert, as contamination in the pocket affects insert stability and dimensional accuracy. This work is typically performed by a machinist or CNC operator following the shop safety and lockout procedures in effect at the facility.
