The ACCUPRO 75288696 is a TNMG-style indexable carbide turning insert designed for external and internal turning operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Manufactured in the CI series with grade ACP15K and a CVD coating, this insert delivers high wear resistance across a range of workpiece materials. The triangular insert shape provides six usable cutting edges, maximizing tool life per insert. A corner radius of 0.0315 inches (0.80 mm) and a maximum depth of cut of 0.1575 inches (4.00 mm) make it suitable for medium to semi-finish turning passes. It is installed and replaced by machinists and tooling technicians as part of a standard indexable toolholder system.
This insert is used in production and job-shop machining environments where consistent surface finish and dimensional accuracy are required. It is suited for turning steel, stainless steel, and cast iron workpieces. The WM+ chip breaker geometry is optimized for a broad range of cutting conditions, from high wear-resistance applications to moderate toughness demands. The neutral hand orientation allows use in both conventional and climb-cut toolholder setups. Typical applications include shaft turning, facing, and profiling operations on horizontal and slant-bed CNC lathes.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for standard TNMG332 (ANSI) or TNMG160408 (ISO) indexable turning insert seats. Compatible with toolholders accepting clamp, lever lock, pin, or screw insert-holding methods sized for the TNMG 332 insert form factor.
Installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine in a locked-out, zero-energy state per OSHA lockout-tagout procedures. Ensure the insert pocket and seating surface are clean and free of chips or debris before seating the insert. Use the appropriate torque wrench or clamping tool as specified by the toolholder manufacturer. Inspect the cutting edge and chip breaker condition at each index to confirm proper seating before resuming cuts.
