The ACCUPRO 75264846 is a DCGT-style carbide turning insert engineered for precision finishing and semi-finishing operations on stainless steel and cast iron. It carries an ISO code of DCGT070201 and features a 55-degree diamond (rhombic) insert shape with a 7-degree relief angle and positive side clearance. The ACM20K grade with PVD coating delivers high wear-resistance balanced with moderate toughness, making it well-suited for applications where surface finish and tool life on difficult materials are the primary concerns. The insert is held by screw and has two cutting edges, offering an economical cost-per-edge value for production turning environments.
This insert is intended for CNC turning centers and manual lathes performing external and internal turning on stainless steel (ISO material group M) and cast iron (ISO material group K). The 0.10 mm corner radius supports tight-tolerance finishing passes with minimal surface roughness. The Series CI insert is appropriate for shops running light to moderate depths of cut, with a maximum depth of cut of 1.35 mm. Machinists and CNC programmers working in job shops, production facilities, or tool rooms will find this insert suited to fine-finishing applications where edge sharpness and coating integrity are critical.
Designed for use in DCGT-style screw-clamp turning toolholders accepting a 0.25-inch inscribed circle insert with ISO size code 070201 and ANSI code DCGT21.500. Verify toolholder pocket geometry and clearance angle before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torque screwdriver for the insert clamping screw to avoid cracking the carbide substrate or stripping the screw seat. Inspect the toolholder pocket for chips, debris, or wear before seating a new insert.
