The ACCUPRO 75257188 is a SNMG-style carbide turning insert designed for precision external and internal turning operations on CNC and manual lathes. Built to ANSI code SNMG433 and ISO code SNMG120412, it features a square insert shape with a 90-degree included angle and negative side clearance geometry. The CVD coating and ACP15K grade deliver high wear resistance balanced with toughness, making it suitable for steel, stainless steel, and cast iron applications. With 8 available cutting edges, this insert offers extended tool life and a lower per-edge cost in production environments. Installed by machinists and tooling technicians, it fits standard SNMG toolholders using clamp, lever lock, pin, or screw holding methods.
This insert is suited for medium to finishing cuts on steel (P), stainless steel (M), and cast iron (K) workpieces. The WM+ chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip formation across a range of feed rates and depths of cut up to 0.1575 inches (4.00 mm). It is well-matched for production turning on CNC machining centers and manual engine lathes in job shop and high-volume manufacturing settings. The neutral hand orientation allows use in a wide variety of toolholder configurations.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for SNMG433 and SNMG120412 style toolholders accepting square carbide turning inserts with a 0.5000-inch inscribed circle. Compatible with clamp, lever lock, pin, and screw holding methods per standard SNMG toolholder designs.
Installation is performed by machining technicians or toolroom personnel. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and insert key specified by the toolholder manufacturer when securing the clamping screw or lever lock — do not overtighten. Inspect the toolholder pocket and seating surface for chips or wear before seating a new insert to ensure proper indexing and edge engagement.
