The ACCUPRO 75241125 is a GD-style grooving insert designed for precision external and internal grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries a cutting width of 0.0787 inches (2.000 mm) and a corner radius of 0.0079 inches (0.20 mm), making it well suited for narrow groove applications requiring tight dimensional control. Manufactured in ACN15K grade with a bright uncoated finish, this insert offers a positive rake geometry and GNT chip breaker for consistent chip control. It is installed and changed by machinists and tool-room technicians during turning setups.
This insert is applied in metal turning operations where precise groove width and clean sidewall finish are required. The GD insert style is commonly used for grooving, parting, and profiling on bar stock, shafts, and similar workpieces. The positive rake design reduces cutting forces, which is beneficial on lighter-duty lathes and when working with softer or gummy materials. It belongs to the CI series and is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed as a replacement-style grooving insert compatible with GD-style insert seats in CI-series grooving toolholders accepting size code 24 inserts. Verify toolholder seat geometry and insert pocket dimensions before installation.
Insert replacement and seating should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered down and the spindle locked. Ensure the insert pocket is clean and free of chips or debris before seating the insert. Use the appropriate clamping method — clamp, screw, or self-grip — as specified by the toolholder manufacturer. Confirm insert orientation and cutting edge engagement before resuming operation.
