The ACCUPRO 75235127 is a GD-style grooving insert engineered for precision external and internal grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries a cutting width of 0.1969 inches (5.000 mm) and a corner radius of 0.0984 inches (2.50 mm), making it well suited for consistent groove geometry in medium-duty interrupted and continuous cuts. The insert is manufactured to the ACP30M grade with a PVD coating that provides wear resistance and thermal stability. A positive rake geometry reduces cutting forces and helps control chip formation during grooving passes. Machinists and CNC turning specialists install this insert as a direct replacement in compatible CI-series toolholders.
This insert is intended for grooving applications on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces in production turning environments. The GPR chip breaker geometry promotes reliable chip evacuation, which is critical when grooving at depth or in interrupted-cut conditions. Compatible holding methods include clamp, screw, and self-grip systems, giving technicians flexibility across a range of toolholder configurations already on the floor. The zero-degree lead angle supports straight groove walls with minimal taper. It is sold individually but must be ordered in multiples of 10 per the minimum order requirement.
Designed for use with CI-series grooving toolholders that accept GD-style inserts at Insert Size Code 24. Compatible holding methods include clamp, screw, and self-grip systems. Confirm toolholder seat dimensions and insert size code against your existing setup before installation.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing inserts. Ensure the insert pocket and clamping surfaces are clean and free of chips before seating the insert to prevent improper seating and premature edge failure. Do not exceed the toolholder manufacturer's recommended depth-of-cut or feed rate specifications for this insert style and size.
