The ACCUPRO 75233692 is a CI-style grooving insert designed for precision grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the ACP45M manufacturer grade with a PVD coating and a positive rake geometry, making it well-suited for grooving ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials where controlled chip evacuation is critical. The cutting width measures 0.0787 inches (2.000mm) with a corner radius of 0.0059 inches (0.15mm), providing a narrow, accurate groove profile. The GUP chip breaker geometry supports efficient chip control during interrupted or continuous grooving passes. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert as a direct replacement in compatible CI-series toolholders.
This insert is intended for grooving applications in production turning environments, including external and internal groove profiling where tight width tolerances are required. The positive rake design reduces cutting forces, which is beneficial on lower-rigidity setups or when machining thin-walled components. The ACP45M grade with PVD finish offers wear resistance across a range of cutting speeds typical in finish and semi-finish grooving operations. The insert size code is 24, which corresponds to the CI series toolholder pocket specification.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for CI-series grooving toolholders accepting size code 24 inserts. Confirm pocket geometry and clamping method against your specific toolholder specification before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine in a full stop and lockout-tagout (LOTO) procedures applied before accessing the turret or toolholder. Seat the insert fully into the pocket and secure using the clamp, screw, or self-grip method appropriate for the toolholder. Inspect the insert seat and pocket for chips or debris before seating to avoid seating errors that can cause premature edge failure. Do not exceed the toolholder manufacturer's recommended depth-of-cut or feed rate for this insert size.
