The ACCUPRO 75215780 is a GD-style grooving insert engineered for precision groove-turning and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries a cutting width of 0.0787 inches (2.000 mm) and a corner radius of 0.0079 inches (0.20 mm), making it suitable for tight-tolerance external and internal grooving work. The insert is manufactured in grade ACP35K with a CVD coating and a GPP chip breaker geometry, providing thermal wear resistance and controlled chip evacuation at production cutting speeds. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install and index these inserts as part of routine tooling maintenance.
This insert belongs to ACCUPRO series CI and is designed for grooving applications where consistent width and edge integrity are critical. Its positive rake geometry reduces cutting forces, making it a practical choice for grooving softer to medium-hardness workpiece materials. The multi-use designation indicates the insert is compatible with clamp, screw, and self-grip holding methods, giving it flexibility across a range of compatible CI-series toolholders. Typical applications include groove profiling, undercut machining, and snap-ring groove work on turned components in both job-shop and production environments.
Designed for use with CI-series toolholders that accept GD-style grooving inserts with size code 24. Compatible holding methods include clamp, screw, and self-grip configurations. Verify toolholder seat geometry and insert size code against toolholder documentation before installation.
Insert indexing and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before accessing the toolholder. Seat the insert fully and confirm the clamping mechanism is secured to the toolholder manufacturer specification before resuming cutting operations. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut for the 2.000 mm cutting width to avoid insert fracture or premature edge failure.
