The ACCUPRO 75212274 is a CI-style grooving insert engineered for precision external and internal grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries a cutting width of 0.0787 inches (2.000 mm) and a corner radius of 0.0079 inches (0.20 mm), making it well-suited for narrow-groove and parting applications that demand tight dimensional tolerances. The insert is manufactured to the ACP35K grade with a CVD coating and a positive rake geometry, which helps reduce cutting forces and extend tool life in steel and cast-iron applications. Installation is handled by clamp, screw, or self-grip holding methods, providing flexibility across compatible toolholders.
This insert is intended for use in production turning environments where consistent groove width and surface finish are critical. The CI series and size code 20 designation match it to specific ACCUPRO and compatible CI-series toolholders used in both high-volume production and job-shop settings. The GPP chip breaker geometry promotes controlled chip evacuation, which is especially important in interrupted cuts or when machining ductile materials. It is a direct replacement-style insert sold individually per package, with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for CI-series grooving toolholders accepting size code 20 inserts. Verify toolholder pocket specifications before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the machine fully powered down and in a safe, locked-out state. Use the appropriate torque wrench or insert key specified by the toolholder manufacturer when securing clamp or screw-type holding methods to avoid seat damage. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before mounting. Do not exceed the insert manufacturer recommended depth-of-cut or feed-rate parameters for the ACP35K grade.
