The ACCUPRO 72090509 is a single-end, solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance milling of high-temperature alloys and other demanding workpiece materials. It carries a 5/8-inch (0.6250 inch) mill diameter, six flutes, and a 0.0300-inch corner radius that protects the cutting edge while producing a controlled blend between the floor and wall of a milled feature. The AlTiN plus coating provides elevated heat resistance, making this tool well-suited for the elevated cutting temperatures generated in aerospace, power generation, and precision machining environments. Variable helix and variable index geometry reduce harmonic chatter, improving surface finish and extending tool life in difficult cuts.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers where high-temp alloys such as Inconel, titanium, and similar materials are being profiled, slotted, or finish-milled. The 1-5/8-inch length of cut and 3-1/2-inch overall length accommodate standard depth-of-cut requirements in aerospace component work and job-shop precision milling. The right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting direction are compatible with standard spindle rotation on vertical and horizontal machining centers. Centercutting capability allows plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers with a 5/8-inch tool holder or collet. Primary workpiece material designation is high-temp alloy (material code S), covering nickel-based superalloys, titanium alloys, and similar difficult-to-machine materials.
This tool should be installed and removed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician using a torque-rated toolholder and collet appropriate for the 5/8-inch shank diameter. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Confirm runout at the toolholder before cutting, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear and can cause premature tool failure in high-temp alloy applications. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and cutting tool manufacturer feed and speed recommendations for the specific workpiece material and depth of cut.
