The ACCUPRO 72089659 is a solid carbide ball end mill engineered for high-performance milling in demanding applications. With a 0.5000 inch (1/2 inch) mill diameter and 6 helical flutes, this single-end tool delivers efficient material removal and superior surface finish in difficult-to-machine workpiece materials. The AlTiN+ coating enhances heat resistance and tool life, making it well-suited for high-temperature alloy machining. A variable helix angle (36 and 40 degrees) combined with variable index geometry reduces chatter and vibration, improving finish quality and dimensional consistency in the cut. The tool features a straight shank at 0.5000 inch diameter, right-hand cutting direction, and centercutting capability for plunge entry.
This end mill is designed for professional machinists and CNC operators working with high-temp alloys (Material Code S), including nickel-based, titanium, and cobalt superalloys commonly found in aerospace, medical, and power generation applications. The 2.5000 inch length of cut and 5.0000 inch overall length provide substantial reach for deep-cavity milling, slotting, profiling, and contouring operations. Its centercutting design allows direct plunge milling without a pre-drilled hole.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit solid carbide ball end mill in the ACCUPRO HS Series, optimized for high-temperature alloy (S-class material code) milling on CNC machining centers using 1/2 inch toolholders.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Secure the straight shank in a compatible 1/2 inch collet chuck, end mill holder, or hydraulic holder and torque to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before the first cut. Coolant-through is not supported on this tool; external coolant or minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) is recommended for high-temp alloy applications.
