The ACCUPRO 72088578 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance milling in demanding materials. With a 0.5000 inch mill diameter, six flutes, and an AlTiN+ coating, it delivers efficient chip evacuation and extended tool life in high-temp alloy applications. The 0.0300 inch corner radius protects the cutting edge and reduces stress concentration at part corners. Variable index and variable helix geometry minimize chatter and vibration during aggressive cuts. This single-end tool is centercutting and right-hand cutting, making it suitable for plunge, slot, and profile operations run by machinists and CNC programmers working in aerospace, energy, and industrial manufacturing environments.
This end mill is designed primarily for high-temp alloys (UNSPSC material code S), including nickel-based superalloys, titanium, and similar difficult-to-machine materials. It fits standard 1/2 inch collets and tool holders used on vertical machining centers and horizontal mills. The 2.5000 inch length of cut and 5.0000 inch overall length provide adequate reach for medium-depth cavities and profiling operations without excessive overhang. It is well-suited for finish and semi-finish passes where edge integrity and surface finish quality are critical.
Designed for use in high-temp alloy machining applications (material code S) and compatible with standard 1/2 inch diameter collet chucks and hydraulic or shrink-fit tool holders on CNC milling machines.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power isolated per shop safety procedures. Use a calibrated torque wrench and appropriate collet nut when seating the shank to ensure runout is within acceptable limits. Verify tool projection and reach before programming to avoid collision with fixtures or workholding. Follow the tooling manufacturer and machine builder guidelines for speeds, feeds, and depth of cut when machining high-temp alloys.
