The ACCUPRO 72088289 is a single-end, solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance milling in demanding materials. With a 1/2-inch mill diameter, six flutes, and a 2.5-inch length of cut, this tool delivers aggressive material removal with a fine 0.010-inch corner radius. The AlTiN+ coating provides thermal and oxidation resistance, making it well-suited for sustained cutting in high-temperature alloys. Variable helix and variable index geometry reduce harmonic vibration and chatter during deep passes. Centercutting capability allows plunge entry without a pre-drilled hole. Right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting direction follow standard CNC and manual milling conventions.
This end mill is designed primarily for milling high-temperature alloys, including nickel-based, cobalt-based, and titanium alloys commonly found in aerospace, medical, and power-generation components. The 5-inch overall length and 1/2-inch shank diameter suit it to standard ER or side-lock toolholders on vertical machining centers and CNC mills. The HS series designation identifies it within ACCUPRO's high-performance line intended for difficult-to-machine workpiece materials where tool life and edge stability are critical.
Designed for use in high-temperature alloy milling applications (material code S) including nickel, cobalt, and titanium alloys. Fits standard 1/2-inch toolholders. No additional compatible model numbers were specified in the product data.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the toolholder and spindle are clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Verify runout with a dial indicator after tool installation and before cutting. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines for maximum RPM, feed rate, and depth-of-cut recommendations for solid carbide end mills in high-temp alloy applications.
