The ACCUPRO 72080385 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding machining environments. With a 3/8 inch (0.3750 inch) mill diameter and 6 helical flutes, it delivers smooth cutting action and efficient chip evacuation. The AlTiN+ coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection, making it well suited for cutting high-temperature alloys and other difficult-to-machine materials. The variable helix and variable index geometry reduce chatter and vibration during aggressive cuts, improving surface finish and tool life. This is a single-end, centercutting tool with right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction.
This end mill is intended for CNC machining centers and manual milling machines used in aerospace, defense, and industrial manufacturing applications where high-temp alloy workpieces are common. It is part of the ACCUPRO HS series, which targets shops running difficult materials that demand coated solid carbide tooling. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals specify this tool for profiling, contouring, slotting, and plunging operations in nickel-based superalloys, titanium, and similar S-code materials.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and direct-fit tooling option for CNC milling applications requiring a 3/8 inch straight shank ball end mill in fractional inch tooling systems. Primary workpiece material designation is high-temp alloy (material code S).
Installation is performed by qualified machinists using an appropriate collet or end mill holder rated for the 3/8 inch shank diameter. Ensure the tool holder and spindle are clean and free of debris before seating the tool. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before production cuts, as excessive runout accelerates wear on carbide tooling. Follow the machine manufacturer and tooling supplier recommended speeds and feeds for the specific workpiece material.
