The ACCUPRO 72080070 is a single-end, solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials. It features a 0.375-inch (3/8 inch) mill diameter, six flutes, and a 1.75-inch length of cut. The AlTiN+ coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting high-temperature alloys and other hard materials. With a variable helix and variable index geometry, the tool reduces harmonic vibration during aggressive cuts. It is center-cutting and right-hand flute with right-hand cutting direction, making it suitable for plunge, slot, and profile operations. Machinists and CNC operators in aerospace, medical, and general machining environments are the primary users.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills where tight tolerances and smooth surface finishes are required. Its primary workpiece material designation is high-temperature alloy (material code S), covering nickel-based, cobalt-based, and titanium alloys. The 0.030-inch (0.76 mm) corner radius protects the cutting edge from chipping at the corner and produces a small radius blend at the floor of a pocket or profile. The 3/8-inch shank diameter fits standard ER and shrink-fit toolholders common in production environments.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers with standard 3/8-inch ER collet, shrink-fit, or hydraulic toolholders. Optimized for high-temperature alloys (nickel, cobalt, and titanium-based) per the manufacturer series HS designation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully and evenly in the toolholder to the recommended gauge-line depth and torque the collet nut per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout at the tool tip with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, as excessive runout will accelerate wear on a six-flute carbide tool.
