The ACCUPRO 72078793 is a single-end, solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in high-temperature alloys and other demanding workpiece materials. It features a 3/8 inch (0.3750 inch) mill diameter, six flutes, and a 1.5000 inch length of cut, making it well suited for applications that require a blend of material removal rate and fine surface finish. The AlTiN+ coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life in abrasive or heat-generating cuts. Variable index and variable helix geometry reduce chatter and harmonic vibration, which is critical when cutting nickel-based superalloys, titanium, and similar materials.
This end mill is intended for use on CNC machining centers and high-speed milling machines in both production and job-shop environments. Its primary workpiece material designation is high-temp alloy (Material Code S), covering materials such as nickel, cobalt, and titanium alloys commonly found in aerospace, power generation, and industrial fabrication work. The centercutting geometry allows for direct plunge entry or ramping operations. Right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting orientation are standard for conventional CNC spindle setups.
Designed for use in CNC milling applications targeting high-temperature alloys (Material Code S), including nickel-based superalloys, titanium, and cobalt alloys. Accepts standard 3/8 inch collets or end mill holders with a 0.3750 inch bore.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Secure the shank fully into a precision collet or hydraulic end mill holder, ensuring runout is minimized before cutting. Confirm spindle RPM, feed rate, and depth of cut are appropriate for the workpiece material and coating specifications before initiating the program. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping or wear at regular intervals, as solid carbide tooling in high-temp alloys is sensitive to interrupted cuts and improper coolant application.
